Introduce Your Kids to Jiu Jitsu, NoGi & Judo

Carving out time for physical activity for our children is as important as ever, as they are spending more and more time sitting – in school, doing homework, other screen time. Enrolling your children in martial arts is a great way to get them active, teach them lifelong skills and boost their confidence.

Top 4 Benefits of Martial Arts

1 - Teaches Discipline, Focus & Self-Defense Skills

In a world of over-stimulation and increased rates of A.D.D. diagnoses, it’s as important as ever to introduce activities to your children that require focus and dedication. Martial arts are perfect avenues for this, as they involve complex movements and muscle memory while encouraging body movement. And by their nature, these sports introduce critical self-defense skills that your children can build on as they grow.

2 - Fosters New Friendships

Our students share a common experience during class, from warm-ups and drilling techniques to group games and live rolling. They also learn to effectively and respectfully communicate with their classmates and instructors as they practice new skills.

3 - Learn Importance of Goal Setting & Execution

Martial arts classes provide children several opportunities to set and achieve goals, from mastering a new skill to reaching the next belt level. Our students experience the challenge and satisfaction that comes with identifying a goal and ‘sticking with it’ until they reach it. This boosts their confidence and helps teach important life skills along the way.

4 - Supports a Healthy Lifestyle

Jiu Jitsu, NoGi Kickboxing and Judo provide demanding but FUN cardiovascular workouts for adults and children alike. The physical demands often lead our students to adopt a healthier lifestyle overall, including eating healthy foods, staying hydrated, getting enough sleep, stretching and prioritizing mental health.

Preparing for Class

To prepare for class, we recommend your child wear light clothing that allows free body movement and that they stay hydrated throughout the day.
